Observer and illustrator

Hi there! I'm Ingrid and I love to bring textures, colors and little happiness together on paper. For me, making an illustration can start with something as simple as a beautiful leaf or an interesting shape I find in nature, a funny character I encounter on a walk or a spontaneity in one of my pencil scribbles. Bringing a story to life down to the right details is what I love to do most. My illustrations arise from different layers that I make into one whole while playing.

I prefer to surround myself with nature and greenery, from the begonia that is taller than myself to the birds and plants in my city garden. Nice and warm in my favorite knitted grandma cardigan and ankle boots I like to step out into nature. I also allow my work to be guided by the seasons, of which autumn is my favourite.

I think it's fantastic to put my stamp on something and really finish it. That can be a small corner in the house or in the garden, wrapping a present for a friend and of course the illustrations on my work table. No matter how small or big: I make sure it is finished down to the last detail. I already did that as a child: covers for my reports at school, labels for jars of homemade perfume and of course the club magazine for my girlfriends pony club. It always tickles to create and everything comes together for me to that core: making and designing.
